To play Daily 3, you must pick three numbers from 0 to 9, select a game type and decide on your wager amount. Go to the How to PlayHow to Play page for a full step-by-step guide.
Yes, each of the three winning numbers is drawn from a separate field of 0 to 9, so it is possible for the same digit to appear two, or even three, times. If you wish to pick three identical digits, such as 111 or 222, this just means you have to submit an Exact play.
An Exact play is a wager on your three selected numbers being drawn in that exact order. An Any Order play gives you more room to manoeuvre as you still win if all your numbers are drawn, regardless of the order they are selected in. The final option is Exact/Any, in which your wager is split between both game types.
A 3-Way play is a selection which includes two numbers that are the same, such as 550 or 181. There are 'three ways' in which a combination such as this can be ordered. If you select numbers that are all different, there are six ways in which they could be arranged - for example 789 could also be ordered 798, 879, 897, 978 or 987.
The amount you can win depends on your game type, whether it is a 3-Way or a 6-Way play, and how much you wagered. Go to the Prizes page to view a full payout chart.
You are allowed to wager $0.50 or $1 for Exact or Any plays. If you play an Exact/Any play, there is a set cost of $1.
Yes, it is possible to play in as many as 24 consecutive drawings using the Multi-Draw section of your playslip.
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase a lottery ticket in West Virginia.
You can play without being a resident of West Virginia, for example if you are visiting the Mountain State for business or a vacation. However, if you do win a prize, you will have to claim it in West Virginia – you won’t able to collect your money from another state lottery.
There are around 1,500 West Virginia Lottery retailers where you can claim Pick 3 prizes. Alternatively, you can mail winning tickets to West Virginia Lottery Claims, P.O. Box 2913, Charleston, WV 25330.
You have 180 days from the date of a draw to claim any prizes you win.
If you lose a ticket, it is very unlikely that you will be able to claim any prizes that it might have been due. Lottery tickets are bearer instruments, so you should sign the back of any entries you purchase to safeguard yourself.
The money raised from ticket sales for Daily 3 and other games in West Virginia is split several ways. Around 45 percent is set aside for prizes, while retailers also receive commission for selling tickets and a small amount covers operating costs. The rest is given to the State Lottery Fund and goes to help causes such as education.
